[Judy Shows the Culture] Wedding Ceremonies in China

Wedding ceremonies are very important in China. Different places have different customs. For example, people in Beijing usually celebrate in the noon, while people in the city in Tianjin usually celebrate in the evening and in the morning in suburb areas. Many people choose to have wedding ceremonies in 2008, for it is a special year; so I have just attended two wedding ceremonies, one is in Beijing, and one is in Tianjin. The guests usually give money to the couple in red envelopes, in Chinese this is called ’Hongbao’. Chinese brides wear western wedding dress too, but some of them choose to wear Chinese traditional dress. There are many different creative ways to have wedding ceremonies in China, but the most common way----is EATING----because Chinese people enjoys food culture. Usually, the couple will invite quite a lot of people and prepare so much food. However, we cannot eat them all! During eating, the couple will change their suit and cheer in white spirit with every table.
